2CO 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

JOH 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Becoming a New Creature

How can anybody become a new creature?

Simple. A human being consists of a spirit, a soul and a body. Once the spirit is reconciled to God, you become a new creature - or born again.

A human being is a spirit, has a soul and lives in a body. We look at the body and think this is the person. This is understandable. But, if you want to see the real person, you need to look into their eyes. Deep in there you will see the real person, because the eyes are the window to the real you. This is the breath of God that was blown into you to make you alive.

Your soul is the emotions and intellect. It takes quite a while to get these two to understand what really happened when the real you was reconciled with God, I.e. when your spirit became alive. It does not understand this concept and does  not understand that the rules have now changed, It was used to using the ears, taste, smell etc. to put things around it in perspective, but suddenly it now also has a spirit where it gets information from. This information comes from another Spirit (the Spirit of God), and now it is even more difficult to understand what has just happened.

The way we get our spirits reconciled to God, is to accept that Jesus paid for our sins. That way God no longer looks at our past sins, He sees the price that Jesus paid to set us free. This awakening of the human spirit causes the connection between us and God to be re-established. The real you and the real me is the spirit. That is the part that will go to heaven one day - or to hell. Once this spirit is reconciled to God, it listens to the Holy Spirit. Our spirit communicating with the Spirit of God makes us new beings. We no longer rely on the rules of this world. We are now citizens of a new kingdom and we have political immunity. We are set free from the sin that rules this earth. We are set free from the rules governing our health, our finances and everything else.

We are born again by saying to God: "I know that I cannot pay for my own sins. I therefore accept Jesus Christ as my Saviour. He paid the price for my sins and I will now live a life of thankfulness towards Him. I will no longer listen to my own wishes and the wishes of my flesh, I will listen to the voice of God and do what He wants me to do".

Therefore your own will is no longer valid - you have basically died because the dead spirit in you suddenly became alive. Jesus now lives in your heart and you concentrate on listening to what He wants you to do. There are different ways of listening to His voice, one of the major ones being listening to your conscience, because he works through that.

ROM 9:1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,

Paul says that He is not lying because the Holy Ghost is working through his conscience. Now our souls need to become aware of this new sense and has to make sense of the information it is receiving from the spirit.

Born Again

People who are born again are new creatures without any sins, washed completely clean by the blood of Jesus. They are born again, perfect according to the Spirit and not according to the flesh. All sins that were committed in the past have been washed away – they are as white as snow – as if they have NEVER sinned before.

When you were born again, your spirit came alive. A human consists of the body (flesh), the soul (psyche - centre of our consciousness i.e. brain & emotions) and the spirit (the part of us that is dead when we are not born again and becomes alive when we are born again).

Unfortunately most believers didn’t get translated into His kingdom, they brought Christ into their life. Isn’t that good? No!  You bringing Christ into your little world is a whole lot different to being translated into His kingdom. There’s a vast difference between you inviting Jesus into your heart, where you’re in control, and you by the Holy Spirit being translated into His kingdom where you have lost control and are indeed crucified with Christ.

We get born again but it takes very long for us to die to self.

The Lord’s prayer says "Thy kingdom come, ….." - but the kingdom has come!  It came when Jesus died on the cross! The Kingdom is in us! Since we are born again, we are no longer born of corruptible seed

1Pe 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.

The total of everything that God has is in you, it’s in the Seed. So that at any time that you look up at God and say I can’t do it, it doesn’t work, I don’t have enough faith to live it, I don’t have enough power to overcome, I sin because I am human. Your problem is you’re ignorant of what’s in that Seed!

You cannot ask for more power, more faith, more gifts - it’s already in the Seed which is in you!

We say "God, I would like to do something for You today, I sure would like to be a blessing to someone". This is like an apple tree saying, I sure would like to bear apples, or a sinner looking into the mirror and saying, I hope I can be a good sinner today! When the apple tree and the sinner go ahead and live spontaneously, they just naturally produce of their kind. They don’t have to work at it! The Life in us produces the works. He will be a blessing to others through you. We do not have to think about the unfairness of being used, the unfairness that we always have to be the first to say "I'm sorry" because those thoughts will prevent the Spirit from working through us. We have to love, we make the plans but the Lord is the One who guides our footsteps.

1Co 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

Saved

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Strong's G4982 σώζω sōzō

Thayer Definition:

  •  To save, keep safe and sound, to rescue from danger or destruction

    • To save one from injury or peril (danger, risk, hazard, threat)

    • To save a suffering one from perishing

      • Suffering from disease, to make well, heal, restore to health

      • Preserve one who is in danger of destruction, to save or rescue

  •  To save in the technical biblical sense

    •  To deliver from the penalties of the Messianic judgment

    • To save from the evils which obstruct the reception of the Messianic deliverance

Luk 1:68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

69 And hath raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:

71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;

72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;

73 The oath which he swore to our father Abraham,

74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,

75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

Strong's G4991 σωτηρία sōtēria

Thayer Definition:

  •  Deliverance, preservation, safety, salvation
    •  Deliverance from the molestation of enemies
    •  Deliverance in an ethical sense, that which concludes to the souls safety or salvation
    •  Messianic salvation
  •  Salvation as the present possession of all true Christians
  •  Future salvation, the sum of benefits and blessings which the Christians, redeemed from all earthly ills, will enjoy after the visible return of Christ from heaven in the consummated and eternal kingdom of God.

We were saved when we took Jesus as our Personal Saviour by praying:

" Jesus, I am a sinner. Every time I try and do something good, I end up doing the wrong thing.

" I have committed many sins of which I am deeply ashamed. Please forgive me those sins based on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. I accept You, Jesus, as my Lord and Saviour.

" Thank You for accepting me into Your household and for washing me clean through Your blood in Jesus Name. Amen"

What is included in this saving grace of God?

  •  We can now look forward to heaven where we will one day come face to face with our heavenly Father, our Saviour Jesus Christ and our Helper, the Holy Ghost
  •  We have been saved from injury - physically and mentally
  •  Nobody can harm us
  •  We have been delivered from all illnesses, current ones and ones that may develop later
  •  We do not have to fear anybody or anything
  •  That we may inherit the blessings that was promised to our father Abraham

Rules of this New Creature

Rules of the old testament and any other man-made rules are not applicable to this new creature:

GAL 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails any thing, nor un-circumcision, but a new creature.
16
And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

And if this new creature walks by this rule that no rules are applicable anymore, then this creature will have peace and mercy from God. This does not mean that the new creature does not have any rules, it just means that the man-made rules are no longer valid. The only rule that now exists is: "Listen to the Spirit and obey". Those who are led by the Spirit, those are the sons of God.

Let us look at some of the rules that are applicable to this new creature:

  •  What we so, we will reap

Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

  •  Do not live by the Flesh, but through the Spirit

ROM 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the
Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

  •  Living after the Spirit:

Feelings are important, but you do not react on them. You react as the Holy Spirit tells you to react. If somebody sins against you, you pray for them and forgive them.

Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Sometimes married couples decide they are no longer "in love" and they want out of the relationship. There is no more commitment. You no longer feel you are in love, so you pack up your things and leave. You forget that a man that does not support his wife is worse than an infidel. If you do not care for your wife, your prayers will not be answered. This is not a game or a movie, it is the real deal.

But many people are like the seed that fell on rocky ground. They hear the marriage vows with excitement, but when trouble comes, they do not have what it takes to make it work.

  •  Reasoning is important, but reasoning without the guidance of the Holy Spirit leads to death. Even if this reasoning is based on the Bible and not with the Holy Spirit as well, it will lead to death (the letter kills but the Spirit gives life)

2Co 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

We see this often when people go Bible bashing or throws Scripture versus around when they think you have done something that they would not have done, for instance smoking. They throw versus at you for smoking and it feels as if you are the greatest sinner alive. But when you stop and think about it, they are judging you and that sin will cause them not to be forgiven. Or they talk to you about smoking that damages the temple of God while they themselves are obese - but they do not see that as sin. This is when the Scripture is used as a stick and kills people and relationships.

  •  We walk by faith, not by sight

2Co 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

Using your sight comes in very handy. But you cannot be lead by what you see or read in the newspapers, see in the movies etc. We walk by faith, not by sight. This means that we see things around us, but we do not respond to them. We listen to the Spirit and obey.

If you look at a person like me who was diagnosed with leukaemia, the expected life span for this person is two or three years maximum. But God said to me:

Psa 118:17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
18 The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.

Christian Diet

A person who has just been born again, has the following additional problem:

HEB 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

According to the Word of God, a person who has just been born again, has not yet exercised their senses and therefore has a problem to sometimes discern between good and evil. We can easily spot amateur pretenders but we sometimes confuse that with the real deal when that real deal is not something we are familiar with:

  •   John Wycliffe (1324 - 1384) was the first person to translate the Bible into English. Thirty years after his death the Council of Constance met and condemned all his writings. They dug up his bones and burnt them, threw the ashes into the river because they "knew" that John was wrong
  •   John Hus ( ) was Rector of the University of Prague. He condemned the sale of indulgences and stopped the priests from burning the books of Wycliffe he had at the university. He was excommunicated by Cardinal Colonna. He retreated to the country where he kept on preaching. There were 3 popes at the time and they scheduled a meeting to decided which Pope is the real Pope. The Popes called John Hus to be there. As he travelled back to Rome, he was greeted everywhere with celebrations. The priests  abducted him and spread the rumour that he was a coward and fled. He was burnt at the stake - by people who "knew" that he was wrong.
  •   Judge not - and you will not be judged. With the same measure you use, you will be measured. We are used to make all types of judgements - even on people that claim that they have been sent by the Lord! We are not afraid to judge anything and everybody! The stricter we judge, the stricter we will be judged.
    •  Luk 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

    •  Luk 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

The only way for Christians to discern between good and evil is to exercise their senses. Senses include their spirits, for this is the place through which the Holy Spirit is working – see Holy Spirit.

The reason is simple:

There are three sources the human being can use to establish what is right and what is wrong: God, the environment (including other people, society etc.) and your own flesh. Few people know the real God while everybody knows their surroundings, other people's opinions and the desires of their own flesh.

Human Sensors

The human body is equipped with sensors in order for the human being to be able to interact with his / her environment and with God.

In order for the human being to become mature, they need to exercise these senses (vs. 14) to discern between good and evil. This means all six the senses (including the conscience). We have all been trained to react to our senses.

  •  See
  •  Hear
  •  Taste
  •  Smell
  •  Feel
  •  Conscience

However, the world we live in dulls our senses.

When I was in the army, we were sent to the border of Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique to do patrols. After a couple of weeks your senses becomes used to the environment.

I can remember when the trucks came to pick us up at the airport after flying back home. The trucks took us to the army base where our wives were waiting for us. We could smell their perfume before we could hear or see them - and before we were in the camp.

Then Ina and I went to the shops. The smell of powder soap was so overwhelming that I could not stand the burning in my eyes and nose. But after a while our senses became dull again and although I can still smell the soap, it no longer burns my eyes and nose.

The same thing happens with our conscience. A few years ago it was an absolute no-no for a girl to give birth to an "illegitimate" child or for people to move in with one another without getting married. Today our senses have been dulled and we actually see no problem with this any more. AND it is getting worse!

So when people are born again, they need to retrain and then exercise their senses to discern between good and evil. The standards that they have been accustomed to is no longer valid. Their experiences are no longer valid either. They need to get a total new way of thinking.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Go to top

The Five Senses (Hear, Feel, Taste, Smell, Sight) are used to interact with the physical realm. The conscience is used to interact with the spiritual realm

Rom 9:1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost

As we go through life, we are told by father, mother, teacher, friends etc. what is required in order for you to "fit in". You learn by going to school, looking at TV, going to church, attending parties etc. what behaviour is acceptable and which is not, what is possible and what is not.

The senses and the brain now interact in a continuous process of telling right from wrong, possible from impossible.  The requirements of the flesh influence our lives and the people that teach us. The flesh will choose the alternative that will best fit its needs.

Good examples are sexual sins. A few years ago sexual sins were unacceptable, but as the requirements of the flesh were allowed to take over, sexual sins became acceptable and the requirements of God pushed into the background. People start to rebel against God and then blame Him when things go wrong in their lives - like wars, the September 11 terrorist attack on the twin towers in the USA, earthquakes, rapes and other disasters.

We learn from watching videos what love is instead of reading the Word of God. We  see movies about writers who are trying to train us that sex is love. We allow politicians to run our countries while they are incapable of running their own lives. We are counselled by people whose own lives are in a mess.

This means that our five senses have become our least reliable resources. People tell us that we cannot walk on water, heal the sick, raise the dead or even pray in tongues. They tell us we will have too little money if we tithe and that you cannot get ANYTHING you ask for. Yet we place all out trust in things we see, smell, taste, hear and feel. "I will not believe it until I see it, Thomas said and we echo his comment!

This is why a person who is born again has to be retrained - from scratch - they have to renew their minds

God also uses these senses to communicate with Him:

Deu 30:11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

Deu 30:13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

Deu 30:14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

All we have to do to hear God speak to us, is put a tape in our pockets and listen to what we have said that day. The bitter things that comes out is because there are bitter things in our heart. Sift that out and what is left is what God tells you to do. That is why so many preachers keep on preaching that people are sinners and not able to satisfy God - God is speaking to them and they think that God is speaking to the congregation.

Go to Human Sensors

The Conscience connects us with God.

Rom 9:1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost

This is not the only connection we have with God, but this is one way that He communicates with us. God has built into the human being the ability to connect to Him. When people are not born again, they look for substitutes. They make images and worship them, or they worship stars, other human beings. Every person tries to fill this space.

Before we are born again, our spirits are "dead", I.e. it is not connected to God. When a person is born again, the spirit of the person suddenly comes alive. Man’s spirit is fed by the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God works through the conscience. Now Christians have to exercise their senses and learn to listen to the Spirit, rather than to other people or the flesh.

It is therefore easy to hear the voice of God. It is in our conscience. Because it is in our conscience, we also talk about it:

ROM 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

All we have to listen to, is our mouths. But what happens now is that people are convicted by their conscience, then they think that it actually applies to other people and they miss the Word of God for their lives. Often I hear of churches where submission is the highlight of each and every sermon. More often than not it means that the pastor has not been submissive to God.

Growing Up

This is why Christians sometimes never grow up. They are always in trouble and making the wrong choices – they are still on milk and not on meat. They have been born again and now they are satisfied, just waiting for the rapture or any other way they can get to heaven as quickly as possible. They are not interested in hearing about the new life and its rules. According to them they are born again and the only rule is that they are going to heaven. When the whole world around their private lives fall apart, they put the blame on the Devil who has been defeated 2000 years ago and all his weapons taken from him - while you could be walking around full of the same power of the Holy Ghost that rouse Jesus from the dead and with fire in our hearts!

Mat 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

We have divided the body of Christ into Baptists, Methodists and millions of others. We are envious of other people success and sometimes our pastors are some of the worse offenders! We cannot seem to wait for a Christian to make a mistake and then we get all over their case, pretending to be more holy than they are. People like this are still on milk and should not be involved in any ministry whatsoever until they grow up.

1Co 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

1Co 3:4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

Kingdom of God

It is impossible for a person to enter the kingdom of God, unless he or she is born again. In order to enter the kingdom of God, the things of the flesh needs to be left behind and only those people who have died (symbolised by the immersion in water) and were born again (by the Holy Spirit coming to live within the individual), this person will never be able to enter the kingdom of God.

This means that being born again means that we now have access to a world that we have never had access to before. It is a world in which the natural senses of the human being plays no part. You do not need hearing, sight, smell, feeling and taste within this new kingdom. Now what do you need and what is the benefits of being able to enter this new kingdom of God?

This is what New Creation Realities are all about. It is an attempt to give you insight into this new being you have become and this new kingdom that you are now able to enter. When you are born again, you do  not automatically enter this kingdom of God. This kingdom of God is also not heaven. See kingdom of God for more detail.

This kingdom of God has only one sensor - faith. It starts off by being hope, something that you believe is possible. Then you read the Bible or by some other means God tells you what is going to happen and that is when hope changes into faith. And faith is the proof that what you not not already have, you will get.

I am healed, not because the symptoms of the sickness has disappeared, but because Jesus said that I would be healed. Sight and feeling no longer plays a part in this new kingdom. It is only God's Word that counts - regardless of what the symptoms says. The symptoms will eventually change to follow the Word of God as claimed by the person in this new kingdom.

See Kingdom of God for more detail about that subject
